willis, christopher, Smith, I., Lamphear, T., & Siboliban, A. (2024, June 1). The DSM Stigma, Pathologizing, Western Cultured Perspective. Word Doc. https://1drv.ms/w/c/b6fd1e11d515f7ba/IQD2XmlVJihzQ7mZSdvk4nxdAQdTxBQiR49oxWFGIWEF-vY
In this presentation, Myself and collogues looked the Stigma, and pushing of western ideals within the DSM-5tr as well as the other editions. within this time, I was able to find key points that would become prominent in our presentation. Specifically within the section “Western Cultural perspective in the DSM,” I was able to identify how the DSM projects western ideals cross-culturally. Show cased by the idea of western identified problems being represented and sent across to different cultures. This brought my team to a point in which we are able to hone in on a specific point. Allowing the team to work unified towards a certain presentation. Through the efforts of the research I was able to come up with future goals that would change the DSM to be more cross culturally accepted.
