Dear hiring coordinator,
My name is Christopher Willis; I am a hardworking and passionate candidate that seeks to further my proficiencies in the understanding of Psychology and the workplace. Personally, I have overseen key aspects of the current job that employees me. Working as a floor manager and bartender. The business is a constant and everchanging flow. Learning to work with others to improve ease of service was always the goal I pushed hardest. Looking and identifying strengths and weaknesses in people is something that excels a business and drives profits. Other things that are in the realm of what my positions oversees is dealing with confrontational customers and planning larger party flow within the business. Our business only allows reservations with larger parties; I have been able to learn how to assess compensation compared to labor. Allowing the business to set certain price minimums and maximums.
My educational background also allows me to further this through the work I have done through my research in my time at the University of Washington Bothell. One of the key things that helps with my background was a research project done during my I/O psych class. Taking a deep dive into steps in which a company (Service Cooperations International) and how they try to improve work efficiency and minimize errors compared to in-place work initiatives and other workplace factors. Through this I learned how to organize and what incentives are needed in order to improve overall workplace moral and efficiency. This would benefit your business as I have found a balance between improving worker morale while also pushing new tactics on efficiency.
This is only furthered through my ability to organize and find new sorting systems. Within my current position, I have installed various tactics in order to teach others in my positions and people looking towards moving into similar positions. These tactics in include pre-planning a service, adding necessary changes to staffing or floor design in order to properly encourage customer flow within the business as well as, ways in which to better identify problem customers and how to minimize future issues with said customers.
I believe that these will benefit this business as I am no stranger incorporating new innovative tactics and pushing for a better, more efficient workplace.
